Be The Change (BTC) Celebration

The Be The Change Dubai celebration, Nov 21st - 24th is bringing together youth social activists from 30+ countries to celebrate the change they have been driving in their local communities.

Youth for Good, the theme for this year’s BTC celebration, is a rallying call for young individuals who are eager to make a tangible impact on the world. This theme encapsulates the essence of youth-driven innovation, social entrepreneurship, and community service aimed at fostering sustainable and inclusive growth. It's about harnessing the power of technology, empathy, and collaborative action to address pressing global challenges—ranging from climate change and inequality to mental health and access to education.

We will support with the visa application for those who require it.

BTC Selection Process

We will choose Story of Change and Cultural Representatives using a set of criteria that we will send to those who submit stories of change to our I CAN 2024 Challenge. We will select 3 youth representatives and mentors/chaperones. Announcements of Story of Change and Cultural Representatives will be made on September 30th.

Those who are not selected as representatives can still be involved as Attendees. This package is also open to anyone who has not submitted a youth-led story of change yet wants to be involved in the magic! Attendee Registration closes on October 5th.

BTC Fees

Representative / Attendee Package: R32,500 per person
Return flights: R14,000 (Johannesburg - Dubai)
Visa: R1,400
Accommodation: R5,850.00 (double sharing + breakfast)
Local Travel: R1,800.00
Dinners (for 2 nights): R1,450.00
Conference Fee: (includes lunch) R2,400.00
Sightseeing Tours: (includes lunch) R900.00
Coordination Fee: (per representative) R4,700.00

Terms & Conditions
Participants are responsible for booking/procuring items marked in bold. Fixed amounts are marked in italics. All other amounts are variable and only finalised at time of booking/purchase.

Should representatives or attendees be unable to travel due to illness or visa issues flight, accommodation, conference, sightseeing cancellations will be subject to vendor charges while 50% of the coordination fee will be non-refundable.

We are raising funds to showcase the 2024 SA Story of Change and a Cultural Performance at the global Be The Change (BTC) gathering in Dubai, November 21st -24th.

Help us reach our target of R195,000 which is what we need to make SA proud at Be The Change Dubai! We aim to have the following team at BTC:

  • Youth Representatives x 3

  • Mentor/Chaperones x 2

The funds will cover the following for the SA team:

  • Return flights: R14,000 (Johannesburg - Dubai)

  • Visa: R1,400

  • Accommodation: R5,850.00 (double sharing + breakfast)

  • Local Travel: R1,800.00

  • Dinners (for 2 nights): R1,450.00

  • Conference Attendance Fee: (includes lunch) R2,400.00

  • Sightseeing Tours: (includes lunch) R900.00

  • Delegate Coordination Fee: R4,700.00

  • Representatives Coaching Fee: R32, 500

All sponsors will be named in the final Stories of Change videos showcased in Dubai.
